Peaceful Sleep

Psalms 4:8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

  • It is a blessing and a gift from God to have a fulfilling nights sleep.
  • When our sleep is tampered with and disturbed, it causes us to become less effective and fruitful.
  • God gives us peace and even wonderful deep sleep – it is our birth right.  Let us claim it continually.

Prayer:  Lord I thank You for all that You do and all that You provide.  I thank You for your protection and love for me and even for the daily bread, but especially for the every nights good peaceful sleep and that I am well rested.  I thank You that You continue to give this to me and my household.  Amen.

God’s Favor

Genesis 39:23  The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.

  • We can not often choose our circumstances and are sometimes even bewildered on how we even landed in such a place.
  • No matter what, God will always bless and prosper us if we will look to Him.
  • God will give us success in every single situation.  We belong to Him and His favor is on our lives.

Prayer:  My Father I thank You for Your goodness and Your mercy and that You watch me night and day and that You give me success.  I will not react or be concerned about tomorrow or my circumstances. I will prosper because You are with me and I will be a shining light and testimony to all by Your grace.  Amen.

Serving Others

with No Comments

1 Peter 4:10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

  • When we can, we ought to serve and whatever talent or ability we have to use for His glory.
  • Serving others pleases God greatly.  It is as great as the first commandment – loving our neighbor.
  • Grace comes in various forms – Gods grace manifest in so many different ways.  We serve a God of great variety and great depth, more than we can comprehend.

Prayer:  Lord I surrender myself and whatever gift is in me to be led by Your spirit and I trust in You to bring about Your purpose and plan in my life and use me to bless others and serve them.  I am willing and I yield myself to that in Jesus name.  Amen.

Totally Dependable

Psalms 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

  • We can always run to Him, in every circumstances. He will always hide and shield us.
  • A refuge is always a place in a time of difficulty and we ought not to hesitate to run to Him (never from Him).
  • Being a horn of salvation means to be one that will always declare a solution and a victory regardless of how it seems.

Prayer:  Lord I praise You and lift my hands knowing that You have a solution in every situation.  No matter what it looks like, and if it seems hopeless then You have even a better answer than I thought.  I do trust You and leave it in Your hands.  Amen.

Faith That Really Work

Mark 11:23 “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

  • It is not the amount of faith but the quality of faith that will move the mountain.
  • We have to actually SAY to the mountain – that means there has to be a sound coming out of us declaring.  He gave us this authority.
  • According to His words it must happen and so we can expect those miracles to take place.

Prayer:  Father I pray that You will help me when I come against a mountain or an obstacle that I will speak to it and do exactly what You say and to have an expectancy that it will have the same result as You said, I pray in Jesus name.  I look to You for that and for the strengthening to speak those mountains out of my way.  Amen.

In Him Only

Psalms 44:8 In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.

  • We remind ourselves daily what a mighty God we have.
  • All that we are, all that we can ever hope to be, is all because of Him.  He is our strength and we rejoice and boast and give Him all the glory.
  • We give Him praise continually, which brings glory to Him and that others may know of our great, wonderful Lord that we serve.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit put His praise continually in my mouth everyday all day and remind me of how great my Lord and Savior is, because He is a mighty God regardless of how things look around me.  Amen.

Source of Life

John 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”

  • Streams… not a small source or a one time, but a continual flow will come from inside as God moves.
  • When we are in Him not only do we receive, but we also become a source.
  • We believe in Him and follow after Him and we become connected and we become a receiver and a giver of water that brings life.

Prayer:  Lord I do want to be a source and to drink myself of Your living water.  I believe in You with all my heart and know who You are – the Son of God and wonderful Savior. Help me to share today this wonderful living water with others. Amen.

1 Corinthians 10:24 Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.

  • Sometimes we need to be reminded of what really matters in life.
  • We are so much happier and more fulfilled when we focus on others and not on our own need and our own selfish ways.
  • May God give us the ability to always focus on others regardless whether they are Christians or friends.

Prayer:  Change my heart I pray O Lord and fill me with Your ways and Your heart that I can be like You and reflect this caring for others and doing good for others I pray.  I do not want to be concerned about myself.  Amen.

Remembering All He Has Done

Psalms 40:2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

  • We remind ourselves continually of all the things He has done!
  • We do not forget from where we have come and how He has delivered us and done great things for us.  We allow no pride or confidence of our own achievements
  • We recognize that He has given us a place to stand firmly in Him.

Prayer:  Lord it is all because of You.  I have nothing to boast in, but Your goodness and what You have done for me.  I rejoice in the fact that I stand firm and it is all in You.  Amen.
