Salty

Matthew 5:13 You are the salt of the earth.

  • Salt is an inexpensive and freely available commodity, but so very needed.
  • We make a difference.  Without salt life and things just taste bad and have no life.
  • We are to change and effect the world with our love, and kindness, and Christ-like way and often it takes all our strength because circumstances are so difficult.

Prayer:  Lord I want to be the salt of this world.  Teach me and help me Holy Spirit to be strong and to keep on being salty in every circumstance.  I love You Lord and give myself to You and I want to touch the world with Your power and Your glory.  Fill me with Your spirit I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.

Watch Those Words

Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

  • ‘Unwholesome talk’ – words that are just not helpful, positive, or building up.  Help us Lord!
  • May God give us grace to monitor and carefully watch what comes out of our mouths.
  • It is for the building up of others that our words should be focused on.

Prayer:  Lord, I confess to You that often my words are less than desirable, or where they should be.  I ask You to forgive me, but also to teach me, help me, instruct me, and empower me to use my words correctly to build others up and be a life giving source rather than flippant or carnal.  I thank You for that in Jesus name.  Amen.

Romans 8:31 If God is for us, who can be against us?

  • No doubt, life has many challenges and even in challenging relationships.
  • So many things come against us, but we know this – God is with us and will help us.
  • We have absolutely nothing to fear if God is with us and for us and we must keep reminding ourselves of this.

Prayer:  Hallelujah!  I am so grateful that You are with me and that I have nothing to fear and no one can be against me because You are for me.  I praise Your holy name.  Amen.

A Perfect State of Mind

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

  • The devil has always targeted our joy, so we purpose to stay joyful.
  • We pray continually, giving thanks regardless of the circumstance because thanksgiving opens the heavens.
  • It is Gods will for us to be joyful and to be happy.  Let us not allow the enemy to steal from us. We will keep our focus in Him and our expectancy in Him.

Prayer:   I lift my hands in praise to You and pray to You my wonderful Savior.  I thank You that You help me to continue to live a life of joy which is Your joy in me.  I give You thanks Lord for all that You are and all that You do, regardless of what I see around me.  Amen.

Growing In Him

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

  • Even though we are saved, we have to focus continually on growing in Him and letting the Lord renew our hearts.
  • Sometimes we allow wrong thoughts and need to return to our love for Him and God to strengthen our hearts with His love and upright spirit.
  • We are not of this world even though we are in this world and we need to be reminded constantly of that.  We belong to Him.

Prayer:  Lord I yield to You and ask You to create in me a pure and upright heart.  I want to belong to You in every way and have the right spirit. I am weak, but You are strong.  Amen.

Always Being Happy

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

  • In tough times or challenges, it is difficult to rejoice.
  • When we remind ourselves of who He is and what He has done, excitement and praise arises.
  • We rejoice not because of our circumstances, but even in them we know that He is great and rejoicing is a strength that God gives.

Prayer:  Lord I do rejoice today, I rejoice in Your salvation, I rejoice in Your goodness and who You are.  I rejoice in Your victories that have been and will come.  Hallelujah!  Amen.

More of Him

Psalm 84:2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

  • When we love Him and pursue Him, we only want more.
  • After spending 40 days and 40 nights with God, Moses prayer was “teach me Your ways that I may know You”.
  • May God give us that same yearning and desire for Him and all that is associated with Him.

Prayer:  Lord my heart does long for You and I pray by Your spirit an even greater desire and greater longing and focus on You that I will not only love You more, but have a hunger and thirst for Your righteousness and Your ways I pray.  I belong to You, but want to be even more committed to You.  Amen.

Forgiveness

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Psalms 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

  • An overwhelmingly fantastic gift – forgiveness!
  • The entire kingdom of God is hinged on forgiveness – both receiving and giving, complete forgiveness.
  • We are so blessed and need to be reminded of it constantly that our sins are covered and taken away.

Prayer:  I lift my hands in worship to You today to thank You for this immense and wonderful salvation that all my sins are forgiven. Help me to forgive others consistently I pray, and to walk in this complete guilt free state of worship continually, because I am forgiven.  Amen.

All Welcome

Mark 11:17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’ ?

  • Prayer is the basis of all spiritual life.  We participate in God’s spiritual ecology through prayer.
  • Where people come together (in church – God’s house) it is a place that we pray and call upon God as a collective body.
  • God made His house a place for anybody, everybody, every nation, every walk of life, there is no one that is not welcome there.  Let us always have that outlook.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, please raise me up in a power of prayer on a continual daily basis that I will be a person of prayer.  Let me always regard Gods home, Gods church and Gods people as a place of prayer and to have a heart for anyone who wants to pray and not have any judgements against people who are seemingly, possibly less spiritual.  Teach me Holy Spirit I pray.  Amen.

Finishing Our Task

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

John 4:34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

  • It was a mega focus of Jesus to stay on point and to finish His tasks.
  • John 17:4 says He completed His task – may we be aware of our tasks and actually fulfill it.
  • We all have been given by God tasks and not one is more important than the other and we will be rewarded according to what we finish.

Prayer:  Lord I commit my life to You and my heart to You.  Direct me, teach me and show me what Your will is for my life continually.  Keep me on task and not get distracted or diverted by something that seems to be You, but rather finish what You have appointed in my life.  I belong to You willingly and gladly and I am thrilled to be Yours.  Amen.
