Praying in the Spirit

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Jude 1:20 (passion) But you, my delightfully loved friends, constantly and progressively build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith by praying every moment in the Spirit.

  • We certainly build faith by praying in the spirit (tongues).
  • When we pray in the spirit the Holy Spirit prays through us with a language that we do not understand and by the Holy Spirit so He is praying more effectively than we are able to pray in our own language.
  • We pray often and continually and not just on occasion, but as much as we can in the spirit.  It should become a lifestyle to pray and it should not need energy or thinking, just allowing the vocal Holy Spirit to pray through us.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit come and pray through me continually in tongues.  Tongues flow I pray, and let me pray for whatever the Father directs and Holy Spirit pray whatever You want to pray through me. Use me I pray.  I give myself to You for prayer in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Don’t Be Alone

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

  • Being alone has many dangers in the natural and the supernatural and God always sent His disciples out by two’s.
  • When there are two, one can shelter and defend the other and help someone that has fallen.  There is a support system.
  • Three – in unity, make a unbreakable strength (God is three – Father, Son, Holy Ghost and we are three; body, soul and spirit individually.  The perfect number).

Prayer:  Lord, I thank You that You put the right people in my life.  Help me to be discerning enough not to be put off by things that my flesh does not like, but to be discerning and recognize those that You put into my life that I can fulfill Your purposes and recognize the healthy relationships that You have sent.  Help me to be that faithful to others too.  Amen.

Loving Him

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

John 14:23 (Passion Translation) Jesus replied, “Loving me empowers you to obey my word. And my Father will love you so deeply that we will come to you and make you our dwelling place.

  • It is a promise – that when we love Him, we keep His commands.  Keeping His commands becomes easy and natural when we devote our lives to Him.
  • God responds to us when we choose to obey, certainly obedience is attractive to God.
  • When He comes and dwells with us and constantly present, it is such a blessing and it is as result of being constantly obedient and committed child of God.

Prayer:  Lord this is exactly what I want!  Please help me to be that person, to be that obedient and quick to respond so that You can make Your dwelling place in me.  I want so much for You to live continually in me and have Your presence in my life.  Amen.

Strengthened Faith

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Dear Doug,

Romans 4:20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

  • The enemies target is to cause us to waiver in our faith.
  • It is unbelief that renders faith weaker, not the amount of faith!
  • Being strengthened in faith and to continue glorifying God regardless of how things look.

Prayer:  Lord help me to be strengthened in my faith and to glorify You continually and to never look at the circumstances or let them determine where my faith stands, but rather by Your word.  I praise You for Your faithfulness.  I love You Lord.  Amen.

Total Well Being

Numbers 6:26 the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. ” ’

  • When the Lord ‘turns His face’, it means that God will actually take time out, pay attention to and focus on us.  A major thing for the Creator of heaven and earth.
  • When God turns His face towards us we can ask Him, pray and call upon Him and He will do miracles for us.
  • Peace – which is the original Hebrew word of Shalom meaning more than just peace, but to give us complete well-being contentment and fullness of life.  There is nothing to compare with it.

Prayer:  Lord, how I praise You for Your goodness and that Your focus and Your help is always there.  Your blessings upon my and my families lives.  Thank You for the peace which passes all understanding and this great well-being of the Shalom that You give us.  I am so grateful.  I lift my hands in praise to You today.  Amen.

Waiting

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Psalms 27:14 Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

  • God is never in a hurry, but certainly is sudden.
  • Waiting is a growth and development of patients and faith.
  • We ‘take heart’ because we know the Lord will hear and answer.  We just need to wait.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit help me to be patient to wait for Him even though He does not move fast, He moves suddenly and He will come to my aid.  Help me to be patient and not be reactionary or stressful today.  Amen.

Face it

Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

  • No doubt we all have things we face that seem ‘undoable’ or seemingly impossible.
  • But through Him there is no limit.
  • God does give us strength to do everything and we embrace every challenge because of it.

Prayer:  Hallelujah!  Thank You my Father that I can do everything and anything because You give me strength.  Thank You for Your strength that I can rely on everyday.  I praise Your name for all that You are and all that You do.  Amen.

Obedience

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

1 Peter 1:22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.

  • Obeying and doing what God says in itself purifies and sanctifies our heart.
  • Being sincere in love can only come from a dedicated heart to the Lord who Himself is love.
  • We ought to love one another – our family of God – deeply and from the heart.  It is essential and evidence of God’s presence in our lives.

Prayer:  Lord I look at the times that I often don’t always sense or feel that love then I realize that I am not always fulfilling my relationship enough with You or dwelling in Your presence.  Lord I pray that You fill me with Your love that I will genuinely love people without any effort.  I need more of You Lord and more of Your love.  Help me because I am weak while You are so strong.  I do want to be all that You ask me to do and even love the unloveable.  Amen.

God’s Leading

1 Thessalonians 4:2 For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

  • God gives authority to those that are trustworthy with all things.
  • We submit to the God given authority and receive instructions that we may prosper and be blessed in the Lord.
  • God raises up leaders that we submit to and we become ourselves leaders and have responsibility to help and instruct others.

Prayer:  Lord help us to recognize always those in authority spiritually and to take it seriously when You are leading us and giving us instructions that we may be strong, healthy and prosperous and even fruitful in Your kingdom to the highest possibilities.  I bless Your holy name because I belong to You and know that You are the King of all Kings.  Amen.

Sustained Blessing

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Jeremiah 17:7 “But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.

  • Trusting is when we don’t see, understand, or know what God is doing, but simply rely on Him – regardless.
  • When we put our trust in Him and not anything we have confidence in in this world, we are safe.
  • We are blessed when we do this, because God will always come through for us.

Prayer:  Thank You Father for Your wonderful goodness to me, that I can trust in You regardless of how things seem or appear and I can put my confidence in You today.  You are a wonderful Lord and Savior and I praise You.  Amen.
