War in the Mind

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

  • The enemy tries to sow bad and difficult thoughts in our heads.
  • But by the power of God, we destroy those arguments and the thoughts that come to us.
  • Taking captive every thought that is not from Him and submitting it to the word of God and focussing our thoughts on all Gods ways.

Prayer:  Lord I yield my mind and take every thought captive that it is subjective to the word of God and to God’s plan.  I will not allow the enemy to make my mind rush into different directions and think different things.  I yield my thoughts to Your life and let the Spirit of God renew it daily.  Amen.

Our God Given Authority

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

  • The devil has worked very hard to withhold understanding from us; that we have complete authority over him.
  • This authority is given purely by faith in Jesus and because He said so.
  • We can put into reality and action that the enemy can not harm us in any way.

Prayer:  Lord, I do confess and believe these words that I have authority over the enemy and all the attacks of the enemy and that by Your command he has to obey and submit and be yielded to the authority that You have given me.  Help me Lord to exercise it.  Holy Spirit direct me I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.

Count on Him

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

  • Not swerving – being swayed by circumstances and negative reports.
  • We hold onto the hope that comes from God that is unchanging.
  • For certain, He is faithful and He has made His promise, He will keep His word.

Prayer:  Lord I do count on You today and I focus on the hope that I know is real in You that You are faithful and all Your promises.  Help me to be a testimony and a witness to others and to share today Your goodness with someone.  Amen.

A Watch Over Our Mouths

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Proverbs 13:3 He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

  • Life and death is certainly in the tongue and what comes out defiles rather than what goes in.
  • So much has been done in years gone by with what was said or not said.
  • The godly wise person watches carefully what comes out of the mouth and takes great care with words.

Prayer:  Lord I ask You to help me and put a watch in front of my mouth that I will not speak quickly or irrationally or impulsively or foolishly, but to be very wise with the words that I use that they will glorify You and bring life to me rather than ruin to me or my household.  Teach me Your ways Lord.  Amen.

Committing to Where we are Celebrated

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Matthew 10:14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.

  • It was Jesus’s instruction that we focus on those that are receptive to what we share.
  • We have a message within us and we ought to continually want to give it to those who want to receive it.  Often we don’t know until we give it who will receive.
  • If there is a constant resistance we don’t need to keep pursuing it if they have heard it we can just move on to the next person that will receive it not wasting our energy on those that are not really interested in the gospel or yet ready for it.

Prayer:  Lord I commit myself to You today.  I ask Holy Spirit that You will guide me and make me effective in being a witness and a soul winner.  Lead me to someone today to witness and/or to lead them to the thrown of grace.  I am Yours Lord.  Amen.

Sowing Works

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Ecclesiastes 11:6 Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

  • There will always be a seed time and a harvest – sowing is a principle that God blesses.
  • Often we are looking for immediate fruit or dividends, but one does not always know when and how the results come.
  • We are not to sit around after sowing and do nothing, but to keep diligently working because we are not sure exactly how God will achieve His plans through our sowing or reaping.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit help me to stay diligent in sowing and to be glad to give and make sacrifices and also to expect a harvest.  Help me to always be diligent and not to idle in any way shape or form.  Thank You for Your word.  I praise You this morning.  Amen.

All Sickness Go

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Exodus 23:25  Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you,

  • So easily we take for granted all the blessings and provisions and protection of our Lord.
  • When we worship Him and put Him first in our lives we can look to Him for provision and healing.
  • He will take away sickness – men have medical, but God supersedes all our abilities and does wonders.

Prayer:  Lord I look to You in this time that You will help us and deliver us in this nation from decease and the world from all sickness that You bring health back to this world and show great mercy and grace Lord.  I thank You for it in Jesus name.  Amen.

Trusting

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Psalms 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

  • If we knew what God was doing and understood all things, we would not need to trust Him.
  • We depend upon Him completely, because He is our defense and just by His faithful and wonderful nature alone we can depend upon Him.
  • Just because of who He is and His greatness we can be full of gladness and praise Him, regardless of how things seem.

Prayer:  Lord, I lift my hands in praise and thanksgiving to You today because You are the almighty God.  No matter what I am going through I trust in You, because You have never let me down.  I worship You.  Amen.

Fact & Faith

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Romans 4:19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead–since he was about a hundred years old–and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.

  • It is not a lack of faith recognizing our situation the way it appears and seems to be.
  • Gods truth is way above all the facts and what He has said is what will happen, regardless of what the facts are.
  • We do not get weakened in our faith because of our circumstances (the enemy is always trying to remind us so he can weaken our faith).

Prayer:  Hallelujah!  I praise You for Your faithfulness and Your greatness that You are able to do more than I can ask or think so I will not pay attention to my circumstances or what the devil says or reminds me of. I will put my confidence in You and You are a miracle worker.  Amen.

All Welcome

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Mark 11:17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’ ?

  • Prayer is the basis of all spiritual life.  We participate in God’s spiritual ecology through prayer.
  • Where people come together (in church – God’s house) it is a place that we pray and call upon God as a collective body.
  • God made His house a place for anybody, everybody, every nation, every walk of life, there is no one that is not welcome there.  Let us always have that outlook.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, please raise me up in a power of prayer on a continual daily basis that I will be a person of prayer.  Let me always regard Gods home, Gods church and Gods people as a place of prayer and to have a heart for anyone who wants to pray and not have any judgements against people who are seemingly, possibly less spiritual.  Teach me Holy Spirit I pray.  Amen.
