Trusting

Psalms 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

  • If we knew what God was doing and understood all things, we would not need to trust Him.
  • We depend upon Him completely, because He is our defense and just by His faithful and wonderful nature alone we can depend upon Him.
  • Just because of who He is and His greatness we can be full of gladness and praise Him, regardless of how things seem.

Prayer:  Lord, I lift my hands in praise and thanksgiving to You today because You are the almighty God.  No matter what I am going through I trust in You, because You have never let me down.  I worship You.  Amen.

Fact & Faith

with No Comments

Romans 4:19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead–since he was about a hundred years old–and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.

  • It is not a lack of faith recognizing our situation the way it appears and seems to be.
  • Gods truth is way above all the facts and what He has said is what will happen, regardless of what the facts are.
  • We do not get weakened in our faith because of our circumstances (the enemy is always trying to remind us so he can weaken our faith).

Prayer:  Hallelujah!  I praise You for Your faithfulness and Your greatness that You are able to do more than I can ask or think so I will not pay attention to my circumstances or what the devil says or reminds me of. I will put my confidence in You and You are a miracle worker.  Amen.

All Welcome

Mark 11:17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’ ?

  • Prayer is the basis of all spiritual life.  We participate in God’s spiritual ecology through prayer.
  • Where people come together (in church – God’s house) it is a place that we pray and call upon God as a collective body.
  • God made His house a place for anybody, everybody, every nation, every walk of life, there is no one that is not welcome there.  Let us always have that outlook.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, please raise me up in a power of prayer on a continual daily basis that I will be a person of prayer.  Let me always regard Gods home, Gods church and Gods people as a place of prayer and to have a heart for anyone who wants to pray and not have any judgements against people who are seemingly, possibly less spiritual.  Teach me Holy Spirit I pray.  Amen.

Best Future Ever

Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

  • When we commit and abandon our hearts to Him we can expect these things;
  • Goodness and love to be a natural way of life without having to be pursued, just happen naturally.
  • ‘Dwelling in Gods house’ is to always be with the Lord and continuously putting Him first and being a part of His kingdom, always in heart, mind and deed.

Prayer:  My Father I bless Your holy name today in praise and adoration and declare to You that I am Yours and totally devoted to You.  Thank You for Your kindness and mercy.  You are my shepherd and I do expect these things (goodness and mercy) to follow me.  Amen.

Salvation is REAL

2 Thessalonians 1:8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

  • Certainly there is an end coming – the whole world agrees.
  • Those that do not accept this wonderful salvation gospel, which is a simple gift, will be punished and receive God’s judgement for it.
  • If we don’t know Him through salvation and relationship, then we are lost.  It is a free gift.  All are welcome.

Prayer:  Lord, I thank You for saving my soul and showing me and my household grace.  I ask You to help me to reach out to the lost and not keep this message to myself, that they may have a chance, and hear and turn and get to know You I pray.  Amen.

God First, Others Second, Me Third

1 Corinthians 10:24 Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.

  • Sometimes we need to be reminded of what really matters in life.
  • We are so much happier and more fulfilled when we focus on others and not on our own need and our own selfish ways.
  • May God give us the ability to always focus on others regardless whether they are Christians or friends.

Prayer:  Change my heart I pray O Lord and fill me with Your ways and Your heart that I can be like You and reflect this caring for others and doing good for others I pray.  I do not want to be concerned about myself.  Amen.

Being Happy

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

  • So often it feels not to be rejoicing or excited when we have so many challenges but;
  • There is strength and power in praise and rejoicing.
  • To rejoice in God and the Lord, because He never changes, He is our strength.

Prayer:  Lord I choose and I live to worship You and to rejoice today, I lift my hands in excitement and rejoicing to You because You are God regardless of what I am going through or what surrounds me, You are my strength.  Amen.

He Answered

Psalms 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

  • There is a seeking that we must reach for; a real earnestness of wanting to hear from Him.
  • God does answer!
  • And He will deliver regardless of what our situation is or who we are, He does answer and delivers.

Prayer:  I praiseYou this day Lord, because You are a God that not only hears but answers.  I seek You with all my heart continually because You are my God and there is no one like You.  I bless Your holy name.  Amen.

The Whole Bible

Matthew 13:52 He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”

  • Rather than replacing the one with the other, we embrace both the Old and the New Testaments.
  • There are so many truths and principles from the Old Testament that we can learn from about God and His interaction with mankind.
  • There is treasure to be found if we will just search for it in His word.  Holy Spirit lead us on that very journey.

Prayer:  Lord I love Your word and I hunger and thirst to know more of Your scripture and Your word.  Open it up to me Holy Spirit that I can have understanding and revelation continually every day from Your word.  Lead me I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.

Cost of Following Him

with No Comments

Luke 14:26-27 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters–yes, even his own life–he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

  • To follow after Jesus means that He gets first place in every way.
  • To be His disciple means that He is our first love and all our decision making is based on that relationship.
  • God wants us to have all these loved ones around us, but He wants to be first in every way so that we can be His disciples.

Prayer:  Lord Jesus I do choose in every way to be Your disciple. I commit my heart and my life to You.  I choose You above all and everyone and everything.  You are the love of my life and You loved me when no one else did. You always carried me and watched over me.  I praise You today and I sing a new song to You today because You are my Savior and my Lord that I follow.  Teach me Your ways I pray.  Amen.
