1 John 5:14  This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

• Anything – means anything that we ask.  What a blessing!
• We approach and call upon Him with confidence because of the completed work that our Lord Jesus did, we should never forget.
• We pray according to His will when we walk in His ways we know His will.

Prayer:  Lord I do want to pray according to Your will for my life and Your purposes. Holy Spirit I pray that You will guide me and show me His will that I will pray correctly.  Amen.

Psalms 42:5-6 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon–from Mount Mizar.

• Certainly, hope deferred or hope lost makes the soul sick.
• The enemy tries to steal our hope which we may never give up, because while there is a God there is always hope.
• We remind ourselves of who God is and what He has already done in our lives and soon our hope returns and even our confidence and faith.

Prayer:  Lord I look to You today and I even lift my face and eyes to the heavens as a symbol knowing that You are always there for me and know that You will always help me. I rejoice in You and praise Your holy name because there is no one like You.  Amen.

1 Thessalonians 3:13  May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

• No question – life presents so many challenges that can distract us from our walk with the Lord.
• But – God strengthens us and like no other.
• God would like for us to be blameless (walking in right standing and with a clear conscience) with Him.

Prayer:  Thank You that You are my strength giver that I can depend upon You because I am weak and I need Your strength Lord that I can overcome every temptation and difficulty in life.  I praise You for Your strength and I lean on Your strength today.  Amen.

Philippians 2:4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

• It is the nature of God in us not to consider ourselves first.
• Love is kind and generous and seeks not its own – let us always be considerate.
• Even when we are busy we should take time to be concerned, interested and focused on other people too and their needs – it is the way of the cross.

Prayer:  Lord I yield myself to You today that Your Holy Spirit may create Your nature inside of me continually that I would be focused and concerned for other people’s needs sincerely and want to help.  Lead me Holy Spirit to want to be that person that cares for others.  Amen.

Psalms 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

• No doubt that there are challenges and storms and deserts in our lives and often we feel abandoned.
• But God never fails, He is always there and He will cover us through that difficult time if we will just let Him.
• His faithfulness is a shield and we only need a shield when there is a difficulty ahead of us.

Prayer:  Lord I praise You that You cover me today with Your feathers and I yield to Your covering and Your protection and I will not panic or get fearful of my circumstances.  I will rejoice in You always in Jesus name.  Amen.

Psalms 8:1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.

• Today we lift our hands in praise and glorify the one true God.
• In all the earth, His name is above and full of glory.
• No one can deny the greatness of our Lord, that is why we praise Him.

Prayer:  Lord I lift my hands with great joy today just to worship You because there is no one like You.  Thank You for Your great grace and love and kindness towards me that I can belong to You.  Amen.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

• His Kingdom – the spiritual dominion of which our Lord Jesus rules over is what we are to pursue.  All the understanding and lifestyle.
• Being righteous is to walk in right standing and relationship with Him on a continual basis.  We are justified through faith and now we pursue our relationship with Him.
• All the things we so want or need will automatically come to us when put these first things first. 

Prayer:  Almighty God, I do choose Your kingdom and Your ways.  Teach me Your ways and Your Kingdom and I will follow them with all my heart.  I know You will add all which I need and desire, putting everything in its place. I comfort myself in You today and yield completely to Your full control.  I bless Your Holy name and thank You for Your goodness.  Amen.

1 John 2:10 Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.

• Undoubtedly, God is love and that is the greatest force on earth.
• If we walk in love, we can do no evil and certainly it is the evidence of God in us.
• We will not stumble spiritually if we live this life of continually loving others, even if they are undeserving or do things wrong to us.

Prayer:  My Lord, I pray that You fill my heart with Your love continually.  I yield to You and do not justify any wrong thinking in my heart, but honestly want to be filled with Your love to love everyone with Your love, because there is no other way.  I feel blessed to be an instrument of Your love in Jesus name.  Amen.

Galatians 2:21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

• Grace – an enormous gift and kindness from God.
• We can not be righteous in our own strength or through the law, it is all by God’s goodness and grace though Christ Jesus.
• Jesus paid a very dear price for us to be saved and to become righteous – it is a total summation of God’s grace.  Thank You Jesus.

Prayer:  I lift my hands in worship and praise to You today for this wonderful salvation and Your goodness and this gift of eternity and eternal life.  Thank You Lord.  Thank You for Your grace upon my life.  Help me express grace to others and enjoy and walk in the grace that You give and not take it for granted.  I bless Your Holy name.  Amen.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

• Everyone goes through challenges and storms.
• We can be sure that God is faithful in all things and that He will strengthen us.
• We have this confidence that He shields and protects us that the devil can do us no harm.  God is our fortress. 

Prayer:  My Father today, regardless of what I am going through, I look to You because I know that You are faithful and that You will strengthen me and I will not be focussed on the difficulty but on Your goodness.  Amen.
