Hoping in Him

Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;

  • Seeking Him is a lifestyle of continually being mindful and pursuing Him wherever He is, whatever place there is a report of God moving.
  • God is certainly good and especially to those who hope in Him and have an expectancy in Him.  He wants to be wanted.
  • Hope is a positive expectancy and our hope should always be in Him and not in any human or circumstances, because God is the provider and He is the ruler of the universe.

Prayer:  My Father I put my hope and trust completely in You.  I give You glory today, because there is no one like You.  You are the beginning and the end and I praise Your holy name because You are good and kind.  Thank You for all the years You have been so good to me.  Amen.

Promise

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

  • A promise is of something to come yet, and we cling to those promises.
  • There is one person who does not break a promise – and that is for sure the Lord.
  • God is not only faithful, but He is a promise keeper.

Prayer:  Thank You Almighty God that You are a promise keeper regardless of our unfaithfulness at times, You remain faithful and You keep Your promises.  I cling to them Lord and I remind myself of Your promises every day.  Amen.

Isaiah 60:1-2 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.

  • God has destined His people to be a light to the world.
  • We ought to let our light become brighter and shine even though the world has become more dark and seemingly totally ‘crazy’.
  • The Lord is rising upon us let us follow after Him and allow Him to function through us.

Prayer:  Lord I yield myself to You today and give myself that You may cause Your glory to shine through me to other people and my light will shine and I will be a blessing of life to others I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.

Refuge

Psalms 5:11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

  • One only takes refuge when there is a storm which life so often presents to us.
  • Always the refuge is there.  All we have to do is run to it and apply it.
  • It is God’s plan for us to have joy at all times and enjoy His protection and His love.

Prayer:  Almighty God, I do purposely take refuge in You in every circumstance.  I look to You for my strength and my help.  There is no one like You.  I bless Your holy name and thank You for Your goodness towards me.  Amen.

God’s Strength

1 Samuel 17:50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand …

  • God gives victories.  He is the source of those victories.
  • Often God will use the smallest most insignificant tools to accomplish His great works.
  • We don’t feel equipped often, or safe, because we do not have the ‘tools’, but God and His word and His ways are the great victorious tools that we need.

Prayer:  Lord, much like David I would like to triumph with Your tools that You give me over my enemies and the enemies of Your kingdom.  Lead me by Your spirit I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.

Pursuing Wisdom

Proverbs 13:14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.

  • The truth will set us free, once we are enlightened and know it, it brings power and strength.
  • We ought to pursue good teachers and good teachings that we may grow and become full of life.
  • Rather than learning later in life through hard circumstances, let us pursue wisdom and knowledge from those that have it.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit lead me and guide me that I would always be attentive and teachable and listening to those that have the wisdom of God that I can be fruitful in every way.  Teach me Your ways I pray in Jesus name and lead me.  Amen.

Holy Spirit Leading

with No Comments

By Ed Traut

Acts 16:6 Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.

  • God continually leads us when we pay attention to Him.
  • Sometimes His leading is above our understanding – they were kept from preaching.
  • Even though it is God’s will for people to hear the gospel, there is a timing.  As we follow Him we learn about God’s timing.

Prayer:  Lord, I do yield to Your time and Your understanding and obey without question what You ask of me.  I pray Holy Spirit that You lead me that I can be fruitful and productive for His kingdom.  I belong to Him in every way and I bless His holy name.  Amen.

He’s Got This

John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

  • The enemy’s plight is always to trouble our hearts first with panic, then fear, and then unbelief.  Let us watch that carefully.
  • We will trust in Him – complete dependance without any information or knowledge, just because of who He is!
  • So our hearts belong to Him regardless of any circumstances, we will trust in Him completely.

Prayer:  My Father with every ounce of my being I commit my trust to You and refuse by my own will today and Your wonderful grace not to panic or let the enemy influence me negatively or to cause my heart to be troubled.  Safe guard me I pray Holy Spirit with this in Jesus name.  Amen.
